The people behind True Knowledge, “the internet answer engine”, thought it would be fun to find out which day in the last 100 years or so that was most boring. They wrote a script that queried their database for the most uneventful day and it returned April 11 1954 – a Sunday. According to the search engine, which hosts about 300 million facts, it is the most uneventful day since the beginning of the 20th century.

Nobody significant died that day, no major events apparently occurred and although a typical day in the 20th century has many notable people being born, for some reason that day had only one person that might make that claim: Abdullah Atalar – a Turkish academic.

Stargate Universe begins with an attack on the base on which the stargate team operates from. Their lead scientist, Dr. Nicholas Rush, finds a way, with a little help from their newcomer Eli, to open the ninth chevron on the stargate. In an attempt to escape, the team jumps through the stargate only to find themselves stranded on an ancient ship called Destiny. It is in bad shape and the team struggles to gain even the most basic control over it. In SGU you follow the crew aboard the ship in their attempt to find a way back home to Earth.
